Box Score Llewellyn's first score came via a penalty kick in the 17th minute of the first half. She then made it 2-0 at the 37:57 mark by scoring off a direct kick. Sarah Evers (Fenton, Mo.) then found the net off an assist from Stephanie Heines (San Antonio, Texas) just 4:50 into the second half to make it 3-0 Lions. The Lions (8-2-2, 4-2-1 MIAA) kept up the momentum by going up by 4-0 just over four minutes later when Christina Kleekamp scored off a feed from Allison Schaughnessey (St. Louis, Mo.). Kelsey Thomas (Manhattan, Kan.) capped off the scoring with her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 64th minute. The Lions out-shot the Riverhawks (4-6-1) by a whopping 21-5 overall and 13-2 on-goal. Llewellyn led the Lions with four shots, while Early Villegas had a team-high 3 shots for NSU. Lisa Senkle (Tracy, Calif.) made her first career start in the net in place of Kaney Tyler (Topeka, Kan.) and recorded two saves. MSSU will next resume MIAA action by hosting Southwest Baptist on Friday night (Oct. 5) at 7 p.m. The Lions bested SBU 1-0 in the first meeting (Aug. 31) in Bolivar, Mo.
