Llewellyn earns Academic All-America recognition

Junior midfielder Nikki Llewellyn has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American squad as a third team selection, announced today (Nov. 20).

Llewellyn, a native of O'Fallon, Mo., carries a 3.73 grade-point-average in marketing.  A solid student-athlete, she was also a CoSIDA Academic All-District and MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll selection earlier this year.

Despite just finishing her junior year, Llewellyn is already the Missouri Southern all-time career leader in goals scored (38) and
points (86).  She also currently ranks fourth all-time with 10 career assists.

Llewellyn led the MIAA this year in goals (18), points-per-game (2.05 ppg) and tied for the conference lead with five game-winning tallies.

Llewellyn helped the Lions win 11 matches for the third consecutive season, tying the school record.  Overall, Southern went 11-5-3 and was 7-5-2 in the MIAA.
