FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Overland Park, KS. -- After scoring each of the Lions' goals this week and leading Southern to back-to-back 1-1 ties over Truman State and Central Missouri, Missouri Southern sophomore Nikki Llewellyn (O'Fallon, MO/Francis Howell HS) has been named the Brine/MIAA Player of the Week. Llewellyn scored both of the Lions' goals last week, each coming in the final 10 minutes of regulation and leading to road ties in conference play. She booted an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute from 30 yards out to knot MSSU's match with Central Missouri at 1-1 Saturday (Sept. 23). Llewellyn took a pass from junior defender Ashley Turner (Columbia, MO/Hickman HS) and scored in the 86th minute to forge a 1-1 draw the next day at Truman. Llewellyn and the Lions will be back in action this Saturday, September 30 when they play host to Washburn in a key MIAA match up at Hal Bodon Field. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
