MSSU’s Tyler named MIAA Goalkeeper of the Week

Goalkeeper Kaney Tyler, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Topeka, Kan., has been named the Brine/MIAA Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the week, after recording consecutive shutout victories over Missouri Western and Wayne State (Neb.).

She made four saves, while facing eight shots in Friday’s (Sept. 2) 2-0 victory at Missouri Western, then recorded five saves against nine shots in Sunday’s (Sept. 4) 4-0 win over Wayne State (Neb.).

The two shutouts give Tyler five for her career and places her in a tie for second place on the Missouri Southern all-time career shutouts list with Moe Ybarra.

Tyler is a graduate of Seaman High School.
