Kimi Shank named MIAA Runner of the Week

Joplin, Mo. -- After a dominating performance that saw her finish second and help the Missouri Southern women's cross country team to a near upset of Division I powerhouse Arkansas, the Lions' Kimi Shank has been named the MIAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Shank, a senior from Rolla, placed second at the event running the 4k course in a time of 14:03.9, a full 13 seconds faster than a year ago. She finished two seconds behind only one Arkansas runner, defeating six other Razorback runners in the process.

Shank and the Lions are off this week, but will be back in action on September 19, when the Lions play host to the annual Southern Stampede.
