The Southern women have won the last two south central region titles and the last three MIAA Cross Country crowns and were recently picked to repeat as champs of the MIAA by the coaches. They are ranked 13th nationally and No. 1 in the region.

The men have won every MIAA Cross Country title in the 2000's, but two, with the exception being 2004 and last season. The Southern men are ranked 24th nationally and third in the region.
