Cross Country teams still rank high in national and regional polls

Men's National Poll | Men's Regional Poll | Women's National Poll | Women's Regional Poll

Joplin, Mo. --
Fresh off their second straight sweep of the MIAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, the Missouri Southern cross country teams continue to rank high in both the national and regional polls this week.

As both teams prepare to host the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Meet on November 3, the women continue to hold steadfast to the number one ranking in the region, as well as being ranked ninth nationally.

The men, after their seventh MIAA team title in eight years, move back up to second in the regional poll and jumped to 16th nationally this past week.

The South Central Regional will pit teams from schools in the MIAA, the Lone Star Conference and the Heartland Conference. Currently on the men's side, the number one team in the Division II, Abilene Christian, is the number one team in the region. The Lions are the only other men's team from the region ranked in the top 25 nationally.

The Southern women join Pittsburg State (18th), Abilene Christian (24th) and Southwest Baptist (25th) as teams from the region ranked in the top 25 nationally.
