Kimi Shank named MIAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Overland Park, Kan. -- Missouri Southern women's cross
country athlete Kimi Shank has been named the MIAA Cross Country
Runner of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Shank, a 5-foot-3 sophomore from St.
James, Mo., placed third at the Missouri Southern Stampede
Saturday (Sept. 15). She completed the 5-kilometer layout in a
time of 17 minutes, 34 seconds, and finished only behind a pair
of Division I runners. Shank helped the Lions to a second-place
finish in the team scoring out of 37 squads, bettered only by
Division I Tulsa (Okla.).
She is a graduate of Rolla (Mo.) High School.
Shank and the Lions will be off
this weekend, but will travel to Chicago on September 29 to take
part in the Loyolla Lakefront Invitational.
