Southern Cross Country finishes third at Loyola Lakefront

Chicago, IL -- Powered by three finishers in the top 20
and six in the top 35, the Missouri Southern women's cross
country team finished third in the Maroon Division at the Loyola
Lakefront Invitational.
The Maroon Division consisted of
Division II, III and NAIA teams that are not currently ranked in
their respective divisions. Case Western finished first, as
Nebraska Wesleyan, Southern, Indianapolis and Saginaw Valley
State rounded out the top five.
Freshman Kimi Shank continues to
be the Lions top runner finishing 16th among more than 375
runners in the race with a time of 18:57. Krista Merrill was
17th with a time of 18:58 and Kara Eckard followed right behind
with a time of 19:01. Allison Walker and Abbey Adams were 22nd
and 32nd, respectively with times of 19:07 and 19:22. Courtney
Waltbillig finished 35th with a time of 19:26, while Ashley
Bunch and Ashley Hendrix were 43rd and 81st with times of 19:36
and 20:11.
The Lions will be back in action
next weekend as they travel to Edwardsville Illinois For the
Missouri-Illinois Border War hosted by Southern
Illinois-Edwardsville.
