Kimi Shank named MIAA Cross Country Runner of the Week

Overland Park, KS. -- Missouri Southern freshman runner Kimi Shank (St. James, MO/Rolla HS) has been named the MIAA Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Shank was the top Division II finisher at the University of Arkansas/Fayetteville Invitational this past week. The meet featured the Lady Razorbacks and Missouri State University, along with the Lions. Shank ran the four kilometer course in a time of 14:43, good enough for 15th overall.

The Lions, as a team, were just four minutes off the time posted by Missouri State and nine back of Division I perennial power Arkansas.

Southern will host the annual Southern Stampede this weekend. The race will feature more than 36 collegiate teams in a men's and women's race, as well as high school races to take place after the collegiate open. The women's race will begin at 9 a.m. with the men following at approximately 9:45 a.m.
