Five Lions on MIAA Commissioner’s
Academic Honor Roll for cross country
Five members of the Missouri Southern State
University men’s and women’s cross country teams
were named to the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics
Association Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll announced
on Wednesday (Dec. 1).
From the Southern women’s cross
country team, senior Ashley Caffey (Lebanon, Mo.), juniors Michelle Brenner
(Coffeyville, Kan.) and Erin Click (West Plains, Mo.), and sophomore Ashley Hendrix
(Washburn, Mo.) received the honor. Sophomore Dustin Miller (Carthage,
Mo.) earned the honor from the MSSU men’s squad.
Caffey holds a 3.287 grade-point average as
a mass communications major. Brenner, an accounting and general
business major, holds a 3.638 GPA, while Click has a 3.242
average as an environmental health major. Hendrix, an education
major, maintains a 3.909 GPA.
Miller, undecided on a major, carries a
3.288 average.
To earn MIAA Commissioner’s Academic
Honor Roll recognition, student-athletes must: 1) have a
cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better at the nominating institution,
2) have at least two terms of attendance at the nonminating
institution (excluding summer session), and 3) be at least a
sophomore in athletic eligibility. Redshirts and those seeking
a medical hardship are not eligibile.
