FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions add junior
college guard to list of recruits Lovejoy joins three other junior college transfers that signed with the Lions last week and three incoming freshman that signed with Southern in the early period last semester. Lovejoy is a 5-8 shooting guard out of Northeast (Nebraska) Community College where she played for coach Matt Svehla. She was a third team All-America selection this year after scoring 16.3 points per game, 2.7 assists, 2.9 steals and shooting 48 percent from the field. She was an All-Conference and All-Region selection, as well. A native of Springfield, Mass., Lovejoy played at Central High School where she was an All-State selection and a 1,000 point scorer. She helped lead her team to a state championship. Lovejoy plans on majoring in criminal justice at Southern and is the daughter of Jackie Jordan. Mitts expects possibly one more signing before the end of the period. |
