three junior college transfers for 2009-10 Jones is a 6'0 forward/center out of State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Mo., where she played for coach Darren Pannier. Originally a native of Gary, Indiana, Jones was a first team All-Region selection this season after averaging 12.5 points in 27 games for State Fair. She made 131 shots and was second on the team with 338 points. Ferreira is a 5'9 guard out of Labette Community College where she played for former Lions Jaime Green and Robin Kantin. A native of Sal Louis, Brazil, this season Ferreira helped Labette to a 22-10 overall record and 15-3 mark in the eastern division, averaging 13.6 points per game, 3.5 rebounds and led the team with 45 three pointers. She was a second-team All-Jayhawk East selection. Rujawitz is a 6'0 forward out of Lewis and Clark Community College and is a native of Edwardsville, Ill. She played two years for coach Peg Mitchell at Lewis and Clark where this season, she helped the Trailblazers to a 27-4 overall record and a number six national ranking in the final NJCAA Division II poll. Rujawitz averaged 14.6 points per game, while shooting 51 percent from the field. She pulled down 5.8 rebounds per game and was second on the team with 455 points. She was an All-Region selection and helped the team to the Region 24 playoffs. She ranked 45th nationally in Division II in field goal percentage. Mitts expects possibly one more signing before the end of the period. |
