FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions welcome
Independence (Mo.) product for 2008 Beale, a 5-7 native of Independence, Mo., played four years for the Fort Osage Indians and started two seasons. Beale was a two-time first-team all-conference selection, a first-team all-district pick and a second-team all-area honoree. She helped lead the Indians to a conference championship and also set the school's single-season record for three-pointers. Beale was a top-ten area scorer, averaging nearly 12 points a game as a junior and over 10 points a contest during her senior season. "Bailey is a great addition to our program," said Mitts. "She could really develop into a special player for us in the years to come. She has a very good knowledge of the game and plays with a lot of passion. Her credentials beyond the arc speak for themselves." Beale also competed for three seasons in volleyball and four years in soccer at Fort Osage. She was a second-team all-conference and all-district selection in volleyball, while earning first-team all-district and honorable mention all-conference honors in soccer. She was also extremely successful in the classroom, as she was a three-year member of the National Honor Society and earned the prestigious Kansas City Star Scholar Athlete of Fort Osage award. "Bailey is the whole package academically and athletically," said Mitts. "She comes from a very successful high school program and coaching staff." Beale chose the Lions over the likes of Northwest Missouri State and Southwest Baptist.
