FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Three Lions selected to MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll Zawakda, a 5'11 senior guard from Torun, Poland, is an international business major with a 3.45 cumulative grade-point average. Zawadka averaged 6.6 points a game along with 3.8 rebounds per contest. Zawadka led the Lions with 13 points in a 70-62 win at Northeastern State on Dec. 17. DeVader earns the honor for a second straight season as a physical education major with a 3.70 GPA. DeVader, a 5'9 junior guard from Holton, Kan., scored 6.6 ppg and was the Lions' top three-point shooter, hitting 45 shots from beyond the arc. She was also instrumental in the Lions' first conference victory of the season at Central Missouri by hitting all five of her three-point attempts, including four in the second half. Henderson is a 5'4 sophomore guard from Urbana, Mo. and maintains a 3.85 GPA with a major in biology. Henderson played in all 27 games for the Lions and recorded 23 assists along with providing energetic minutes off the bench. The trio of guards helped the Lions to their best season since the 2004-05 campaign by finishing the year 18-10 overall and holding a regular spot in the weekly South Central Regional rankings. The Lions narrowly missed a chance to play in the postseason for the first time since 1996.
