Lions defeat Oklahoma Panhandle, 82-55

GOODWELL, Okla. --
Missouri Southern got a career-high and game-high 18 points from junior
Liz Burks (Ottawa, Kan.) to pace four Lions in double-figures in an
82-55 win over the Oklahoma Panhandle Lady Aggies Sunday afternoon (Dec.
18).
The win improves the Lions overall record to 7-3, while the
Lady Aggies drop to 6-5 on the year.
With the game tied 21-21 with 8:26 left in the first half, the Lions
outscored OPSU 26-5 the remainder of the first half to take a commanding
47-26 advantage at the break. Senior Nicole Greninger (Webb City, Mo.)
scored 11 points during that stretch, including two three-pointers to
fuel the Lions' charge.
The Lions maintained control by opening the second half on a 13-6 run to
build the lead to 28 with 15:19 remaining. The Lady Aggies would never
draw
closer than 19 from that point.
Burks was joined in double figures by Greninger, who finished with 16
points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-4 from
three-point distance. Redshirt freshman Danielle DeVader (Holton, Kan.)
scored 14 points and hit 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, while senior Dacie
Reutlinger (Owasso, Okla.) recorded the second double-double of the
season for the Lions by scoring 10 points and pulling down a game-high
10 rebounds.
Brandi Lewis led the Lady Aggies with 14 points, while Diana Garduno and
Nina Kuleff scored 13 and 10 points, respectively for OPSU.
The Lions will close out the first semester by staying in Oklahoma for a
rematch with the East Central (Okla.) Lady Tigers Tuesday afternoon at 2
p.m. in Ada, Okla. Southern won the first match against the Lady Tigers
70-68 in its season-opener on Nov. 15 at the Leggett & Platt Athletic
