Originally from Midwest City, Oklahoma, Karleigh Perkins
begins her first season as a student assistant for coach Mitts. Perkins played
at Garden City (Kan.) Community College from 2003-2004 and at the University of
North Alabama from 2004-05.
A graduate of Midwest City High School in Midwest City
Oklahoma, the former Karleigh Wall was married in June of 2008 to former
Missouri Southern football player Dustin Perkins. Perkins is a senior at
Southern majoring in PE.
"We are excited to add Karleigh to our staff as a student assistant," Coach Mitts said. "Due to her playing experience at the junior college and NCAA DI level, Karleigh brings a wealth of knowledge, especially in the area of post play. She is a no-nonsense, competitive person with excellent communication skills. Karleigh has been instrumental in assisting with our post players - she has been able to convey the intensity and passion needed to be successful in the paint. Karleigh has a tremendous career in teaching/coaching ahead of her."
