Darin Moore, now in his fifth year at Missouri Southern, took over in January of 2003 as head athletic trainer. He heads the Southern staff after serving three years as a clinical outreach athletic trainer, first at Encore Therapy Management Services/Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs, Miss., and most recently at Rehab Associates/Jackson Hospital Medicine on Call in Greenville, Ala. A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Southeastern Athletic Trainers Association, he also was assistant athletic trainer at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College and an independent contract athletic trainer for the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center in Jackson, Miss. Moore received a master's of education-physical education degree from Delta State University in 1998 (where he was a graduate assistant athletic trainer), and a bachelor of science degree in physical education/human movement studies from Kent State University in 1996. A native of Lewistown, Ill., Moore also earned an associate of arts degree from Coffeyville Community College. Darin married the former Stephanie Fhrum on July 7. The couple resides in
Joplin.
