Squad Description
The Missouri Southern Dance Team consists of 12 dancers for the entire academic year. We emphasize all areas of dance, including jazz, funk, and pom.
Each member could receive up to $500 a semester scholarship money.

Responsibilities
Squad members are expected to attend and perform at all home football and basketball games, homecoming parades, and pep assemblies.

Practices
Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-6:30 pm and Fridays before home football games on the field with the Lion Pride Marching Band from 2:00-4:00.  Members should be prepared to attend any additional practices as needed.  Summer practices will be one week before camp.  Camp is usually the last week in July at MSU in Springfield.

Tryouts
Dance tryouts will be in April in which a two-day clinic will be held to teach the required material. Participants can expect the following in the tryout routine: Double turn, toe touch, splits, leaps, and axles.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Missouri Southern Dance Team, members are required to enroll in at least 12 hours.  This is also a requirement to be eligible for scholarship money.
