FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Horn places third in decathlon/Shank and Benkert shine in 10k at KU Relays Decathlon Results | Men's 10k Results | Women's 10k Results Lawrence, Kan. -- Missouri Southern's Phillip Horn and Kimi Shank both picked up provisional scores today at the KU Relays in Lawrence. Horn placed third in the decathlon with 6,609 points. He finished behind University of Minnesota sophomore Joey Schwecke and unattached athlete Ben Parrish. Shank took home the title in the 10k, narrowly missing out on an automatic qualifying time with a finish of 35:59.22. Ashley Bunch placed ninth with a time of 38:52.83. Brennan Benkert placed fourth in the men's 10k finishing with a time of 31:21.85. He finished behind only two unattached runners and Wichita State's Scott Reed. Both teams will continue to compete in the KU Relays, while more athletes will compete at the University of Arkansas' John McDonnell Invite. Both events carry on through Saturday. |
