FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Lions pick up provisionals in final day of 2009 Radio Shack Invite
Complete Results Ciara Lipsey, Emilie Mieseler and Kimi Shank all picked up provisionals on the women's side, while Seth Hackney scored a personal best and a provisional on the men's side. Lipsey finished second in the pole vault with a provisional height of 12 feet, two inches. Emilie Mieseler led a 2-3-4-5 finish in the shot put with a provisional distance of 43 feet, three and three quarter inches. Cortney Vie, Nicole Green and Erin Steffens placed third through fifth. Kimi Shank won the invitational mile with a provisional time of 5:05.46, while Courtney Waltbillig was eighth. Silvia Pineda took the title in the open mile, while Ashley Bunch and Kari Fritchie placed third and fifth in the 5,000m. Carita Riutta and Shannan Borgard placed second and fourth in the 800m, while Kaitlin Wilkinson and Olga Bulgarova were 11th and 12th. Lisa Vengels hit a height of five feet, three and a quarter inches, but placed second on fewer misses in the high jump. Gayla Booth and Channell Lloyd were 9th and 10th in the event. Lloyd was second in the triple jump, while Cyarra Prince placed fourth. The duo placed third and fourth in the 60m hurdles, as well. Danielle Oliver was third in the 60m dash, while Prince and Camille Brown were eighth and tenth in the 400m. The women's mile relay team placed third in the event. Hackney hit 52 feet, eight and a quarter inches to win the shot put and earn a provisional distance. Kyle Hancock was second at 50 feet, seven and a half inches. Seager Wilson and Corey Shumate were first and third in the pole vault, while Phillip Horn placed seventh. Horn was second in the 60m hurdles, while Nicco Mendes and John Lowe placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Aki Nummmela won the 800m run with a time of 1:56.60. Rustan Crockett was 27th. Kevin Wright placed second in the 600 yard run with a time of 1:15.52, while Derek Wright placed fourth in the mile invite. Andrew Wright placed 13th in the 400m dash, while Michael LaCurtis was 26th. Chris Brown finished third in the high jump with a height of six feet, four and three quarter inches, while David Selby and Horn were seventh and eight in the event. Mendes and Selby were fifth and 11th in the triple jump. The Lions will be back in action next weekend competing at the prestigious Tyson Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas. |
