Friday Results Vie took the title in the event with a distance of 54 feet, four inches, bettering her provisional from earlier in the year by more than a foot. Mieseler improved her distance in the weight by more than five feet with a provisional distance of 53 feet, five and three quarter inches. Nicole Green placed seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 44 feet, six inches. In the women's 3k, Courtney Waltbillig and Kara Eckard placed second and third, respectively with Waltbillig finishing in 10:30.38 and Eckard crossing the finish in 10:31.76. Silvia Pineda placed sixth at 10:50.32. Channell Lloyd placed seventh in the long jump, while Cyarra Prince, Gayla Booth and Lisa Vengels were 10th, 11th and 14th, respectively. Kelly McKay placed 10th in the 200m, while Danielle Oliver, Tia Cook and Alex Close were 11th, 12th and 14th, respectively. In men's action Dustin Dixon took home the title in the 3k where the Lions went 1-3 in the event. Dixon finished in 8:39.21, while Jarkko Jarvenpaa and Brennan Benkert finished second and third. Josh Mathis was fifth, while Chris Bell placed ninth. Andrew Wright placed second in the 200m, narrowly missing a provisional with a time of 22.86, while Cornell Gedward finished sixth. Phillip Horn and Dawson Urrutia were eighth and ninth in the long jump, while Nicco Mendes and David Selby placed 15th and 16th in the event. Kyle Hancock placed 13th in the weight throw with a distance of 41 feet, nine and three quarter inches. Action concludes tomorrow with the men's shot put, women's triple jump and the women's pole vault beginning at 10:30 am. |
