FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Horn finishes second in MIAA Decathlon Heptathlon Results | Decathlon Results Hays, Kan. -- Missouri Southern junior Phillip Horn took the title in the pole vault and was second in the 110m hurdles en route to a second place finish in the decathlon at the 2008 MIAA Multis at Fort Hays State University today. Horn, who earned the Lions eight team points toward the 2008 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship, had 6542 points in the event, finishing second to AJ Roth of Central Missouri, who had 6820 points. The 6,542 points is good enough for seventh place nationally and is a solid provisional that should get Horn to the national meet in the decathlon. In women's action, Kayla Piley finished sixth in the long jump, 14th in the javelin and 10th in the 800m to place 13th in the heptathlon with 3724 points. Both Piley and Horn will be back in action on May 3-4 when they travel with their teammates to Northwest Missouri to compete in the 2008 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. |
