Williams finished fourth at the NCAA Division II Nationals this year, vaulting to a height of 16 feet, four inches. Williams set a personal best earlier in the year with a vault of 16 feet six inches at the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational. He finished second at this year's MIAA Indoor Championships and won the pole vault at the Central Missouri Invite with a vault of 16 feet, five and a half inches. Wilson was the MIAA Indoor Champion this year in the pole vault with a vault of 16 feet, one and three quarters of an inch. He finished eighth at the D-II Championships with a vault of 16 feet even. Ellis finished third at the MIAA meet this past year and was sixth at the D-II Championships with a vault of 16 feet, four inches. Selby continued her dominance of the MIAA throwers winning her third straight MIAA Indoor Shot Put title this past year. Earlier in the season, she broke her own record in the event with a throw of 49 feet, three inches at the Fazolis/Baymont Inn Invitational. Selby looked poised to win a National Title at this year's championships in Boston, as she broke her own school record and personal best with a throw of 50 feet, six and three quarters of an inch in her second attempt. That throw remained the best at the meet for three more rounds until Selby was edged in the final throw from Bemidji State's Sheena Devine. The Missouri Southern outdoor track teams will begin their 2007 season this weekend competing in the Pittsburg State University Invite. |
