Action begins on Friday at 5 p.m. with

men’s distance medley relay, which is the final event of
the night and takes place at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the event heats up with more

The MSSU women return eight All-Mid-America

2003 indoor All-America Danee Jones, a senior thrower from Clayton, Mo., from last
year’s conference championship team. Jones is a two-time
MIAA champion in the weight throw. Senior Ashley Caffey (Lebanon,
Mo.), last year’s MIAA champion in the 5000-meter run
leads the Southern distance corps.
Southern’s men have five returning
All-MIAA performers from their 2004 conference indoor
championship squad, including 2004 indoor national qualifier Matt Campbell
(Worthington, Ind.) in the pole vault. Campbell, a junior, won
the 2004 MIAA indoor championship in event, while junior Kyle Rutledge (Joplin,
Mo.) captured the conference outdoor pole vault title.
The MSSU/Radio Shack Invitational is the
first of two collegiate home meets on the schedule this season
for the Lions. Southern also hosts the Baymont
