Cirillo announces two more men’s soccer signees
Rippelmeyer, Whiles heading to Missouri Southern

Head coach Kiley Cirillo has announced that two more former prep standouts have signed with the Missouri Southern State University men’s soccer program.

Aaron Rippelmeyer and Austin Whiles have signed national letters of intent to continue their education and soccer playing careers with the Green & Gold in 2004.

“I’m very excited to have Aaron and Austin join our program,” Cirillo said. “They not only add depth to our roster, but they have a chance to make us better and add to our success in the future.”

Rippelmeyer, 5-foo-9 and 145 pounds, comes to Southern from Waterloo, Ill., where he was a two-year starter at defender for the Bulldogs. He was an honorable mention All-Mississippi Valley Conference performer as a senior, helping lead Waterloo High School to a regional championship. As a junior Rippelmeyer helped the Bulldogs to a conference title. The son of Dale and Kristine Rippelmeyer, he also lettered one year in ice hockey at WHS.

Whiles, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, was a second-team all-metro and second-team all-state pick as a senior in 2003 at Olathe (Kan.) East High School. The Overland Park, Kan. native was a four-year starter at midfield for the Hawks and helped the squad to the 2001 and 2003 Sunflower League championships. Whiles holds the school record for single-season assists and has also been a first-team All-Sunflower League performer, as well as a first-team All-Northeast Kansas Soccer Coaches Association pick. He has also been named to the All-Johnson County and All-Olathe teams. He is the son of Wayne and Debbie Whiles and has also been a four-year letterman in golf.

Rippelmeyer and Whiles join six other newcomers that have signed with the MSSU men’s soccer program. Incoming freshmen Josh Blackman (Kirksville, Mo.), Ebrima Colley (Gambia), Brett Kohler (Waterloo, Ill./Gibault Catholic HS), Alain Njoume (Crowder College), Neil Stoessel (Papillion, Neb./Platteview HS) and Drew Whitworth (Webb City, Mo.) announced in February their intentions to play soccer at Southern.
