Two signees announced for men’s soccer
Prater, Tyree heading to Missouri Southern

Head coach Kiley Cirillo has announced that two more former high school soccer standouts have committed to the Missouri Southern State University men’s soccer program.

Tucker Prater (Springfield, Mo.) and Chris Tyree (Claremore, Okla.) have announced their intentions to attend MSSU and play soccer with Cirillo’s Lions.

Prater, a 6-foot-3 and 175-pounder, is a midfielder from Springfield’s Kickapoo High School, where he was a two-year starter for the Chiefs of head coach Tom Davidson. He is the son of Ronald and Kathy Prater.

Tyree joins the Lions from Oologah (Okla.) High School, where he was a four-year starter at midfielder. A 6-foot and 165-pounder, he was an all-state and all-district performer as a senior for the Mustangs of coach Paul Hollon. Tyree, who plans to study synthetic chemistry at MSSU, is the son of William and Pamela Tyree.

Prater and Tyree are two of 14 newcomers that have committed to the Lions’ program for 2004. Others in the 2004 recruiting class include: Josh Blackman (Kirksville, Mo.), Willie Brasel (Warrensburg, Mo.), Ebrima Colley (Gambia), Dushan Gorechan (Wichita, Kan./Wichita East HS), Brett Kohler (Waterloo, Ill./Gibault Catholic HS), Ryan Morris (Topeka, Kan./Washburn Rural HS), Alain Njoume (Crowder College), Aaron Rippelmeyer (Waterloo, Ill.), Neil Stoessel (Papillion, Neb./Platteview HS), Austin Whiles (Overland Park, Kan./Olathe East HS), Drew Whitworth (Webb City, Mo.) and Blake Wright (Conway, Ark.).

The 2004 campaign will mark Cirillo’s second season as head coach of the Lions. Cirillo was a two-time all-conference performer as a defender with the Lions during his career (1997-2000).
