Lions finish in third place at SBU Invite

Bolivar, Mo.
- The Missouri Southern golf team finished third today after the final round of the Southwest Baptist University Invite played at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar.

Freshman Andy Hogenmiller (Washington, Mo.) finished tied for fifth after shooting a one under today and even par for the tournament.  Sophomore's Stephen Boyd (Springdale, Ark.) and Seve Smith (Webb City, Mo.) finished 26th as both shot a 152. Junior Adam Nelson (Parsons, Kan.) finished with a 153, while junior David Eddy (Carl Junction, Mo.) finished with a 154. Sophomore Taylor Griffith (Carthage, Mo.) finished with a 156, while senior David Clark (Neosho, Mo.) shot a 160.

Central Missouri and Southwest Baptist duked it out in the final day and the Mules emerged the team champs with 582, leading the Bearcats by three strokes. Southern was third, while Truman and William Woods round out the top five. Washburn was second after day one, but a 311 in day two moved the Ichabods to sixth. They tied with Fort Hays, while Lincoln, Drury and Central Missouri's B team round out the top ten.

This meet concludes the Lions' fall schedule and Southern will start back up in the spring.
