FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 30, 2008 Lions finish third at Drury Invite Final Stats Springfield, Mo. - The Missouri Southern golf team finished in third place at the Pasta House/Drury Invitational today played at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield. The Lions finished six strokes behind the lead as they shot a two-day total of 593 as a team. Southern was led by sophomore Seve Smith (Webb City, Mo.) who shot a one under par 143 and finished fourth. Freshman Andy Hogenmiller (Washington, Mo.) had a 148 and was tied for 10th, while junior Adam Nelson (Parsons, Kan.) finished with a 152. Junior David Eddy (Carl Junction, Mo.) had a 154, while sophomore Stephen Boyd (Springdale, Ark.) had a 156. Sophomore Chris Needham (Springdale, Ark.) finished with a 157 and senior David Clark (Neosho, Mo.) had a 159. Missouri Western took the team title with a 587, while Northern Kentucky's Jeremy Martin shot a five under, 169 to capture the individual medalist. Truman was two shots back in second, followed by Southern, Arkansas Tech and Northern Kentucky to round out the top five. The Lions will be back in action October 6-7 when they travel to Bolivar, Mo. to compete in the Southwest Baptist Invitational at Silo Ridge Country Club. |
