FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 24, 2009 Lions finish in 11th at Central Oklahoma Final Stats Edmond, Okla. - The Missouri Southern golf team placed 11th in a very competitive field of 18 regional teams as play concluded today at the 2009 Central Oklahoma Kickingbird Classic at Kickingbird Golf Course in Edmond. Freshman Andy Hogenmiller had a strong third round to post the Lions' top individual score of 227, finishing tied for 36th. Junior David Eddy shot a 229, while sophomore Seve Smith had a 231. Sophomore's Taylor Griffith and Chris Needham shot a 233, while sophomore Jamie Voegeli shot a 234. Central Oklahoma shot a tournament-low 275 in its final round to defeat Northeastern State by nine strokes and capture the team title. The Lions will be back in action next weekend when they step into MIAA play with the Washburn Invitational at Topeka Country Club. |
