FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 18, 2007 Lions finish in fourth place at Bulldog Invitational Final Results Kirksville, Mo. - The Missouri Southern golf team, behind a strong second day, finished in fourth place today at the Bulldog Invitational at Kirksville Country Club. Southern improved its team score by four strokes today, shooting a 294. The team shot a 593 for the tournament, just one stroke from third place, Winona State and six behind the second place Drury Panthers. Sophomore David Eddy had another solid day, shooting even par 71 to finish two over and tied for third place in the tournament. Freshman Seve Smith shot a 73 to improve by three strokes from his day one total to finish tied for 16th with an eight over 149. Sophomores Adam Nelson and Corey Clingan shot a 151 and 152, respectively, while junior David Clark and senior Ben Perry were both at 155. Freshman Jamie Voegeli shot a 156. Washburn won the individual and team titles as both Matt Lazzo and Matt Ewald finished tied at five under. Lazzo won the one-hole playoff for the individual title. The Ichabods shot a one over par 565 as a team. Drury finished second, followed by Winona State, Southern, and Central Missouri to round out the top five. Eddy and Drury's Andrew Funk were tied at two over for third place, while Washburn's Matt Salome finished in fifth with a four over 146. Southern will be back in action next Monday, September 24 when they travel to Owasso, Oklahoma to compete in the Northeastern State Invitational. |
