Overland Park, Kan.
- Missouri Southern senior Tommy Clifford helped the Lions to a second place showing at the USC - Beaufort Lonnie Barton Invitational last week, finishing fourth individually, and was named the MIAA Golfer of the Week today.

He carded a 36-hole score of 148 on the par 72 layout at Oldfield Country Club, tying Eric Lefante from Division I Rider (N.J.).

Clifford was second among non-Division I golfers in the field, finishing one-shot behind Thomas Facciani of Indiana (Pa.) and three behind the winner, Patrick Kelly of Long Island (N.Y.).

The Lions carded a four-man, 36-hole score of 611 -- six shots behind the winning IUP squad and two shots better than the LIU Blackbirds.

Clifford and the Lions will be back in action next week, traveling to Topeka for the Washburn Invitational.
