Men’s golf earns NCAA Regional berth
Lions to compete May 2-4 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Missouri Southern State University’s men’s golf team is among 80 NCAA Division II teams around the nation that will compete May 2-4 in the NCAA-II Super Regionals.

Missouri Southern is one of six teams from the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association that will compete in the Central/Great Lakes Super Regional at St. Joseph (Mo.) Country Club. The Central Region is comprised of teams from the MIAA and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Washburn, Central Missouri State, Missouri Western, Truman State and Southwest Baptist join the Lions as MIAA invitees to the super regional. Winona State (Minn.) and Bemidji State (Minn.) will represent the NSIC in team competition.

Individuals from Minnesota-Crookston and Pittsburg State have also been invited to the tourney.

It marks the fourth straight NCAA postseason appearance for the Lions, who finished fourth in the MIAA this season.

The winner of each region and the top individual advance to the NCAA Division II Championships, scheduled for May 17-20 in Savannah, Ga.

The Great Lakes Regional teams up with the Central in the super regional format. The Great Lakes Regional includes teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
