FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Southern announces coaching changes for
golf, tennis
Greim to head up golf squad; Sheryl Posch
to assist in tennis
Missouri Southern State University has
announced some changes in coaching for the institution’s
men’s golf and women’s tennis teams.
Kevin Greim, who serves as MSSU’s
athletics marketing & broadcasting director, has stepped in
as the Lions’ new head golf coach. He replaces Scott
Stettes, who resigned his position earlier this summer to
devote more time to his family. However, Stettes will continue
to serve the Lions in an instructional capacity.
An avid golfer, Greim served as interim
men’s golf coach at Southern in the fall of 2001.
In women’s tennis, Sheryl Posch will
remain with the Lions as an assistant after concluding a
stellar tennis-playing career at MSSU. She and her mother,
current Lions head coach Jane Posch, will share
responsibilities with the squad.
Posch, an All-MIAA and MIAA
Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll selection, played No.
1 singles and doubles for Southern all four years. She posted a
record of 45-48 in singles play and 52-34 in doubles action.
The MSSU men’s golf team opens the
2004 fall season on Sept. 13 at the NEO Norsemen Invitational
at Peoria Ridge Golf Club in Miami, Okla.
Southern’s women’s tennis squad
begins its fall schedule on Sept. 4 at the MIAA Fall Doubles
Tournament.
