FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 10, 2007 Lions drop exhibition finale to Livin' The Dream, 79-66 Box Score Joplin, Mo. - Former Missouri-Kansas City forward Blake Crawford led four players in double figures as the Missouri Southern basketball team lost its exhibition finale today, 79-66 to visiting Livin' The Dream. Southern fell behind 5-0 after a jumper from Brad Mann and a three from Luke Spencer-Gardner, however a three from Skyler Bowlin and a jumper from Octavius Hawkins tied the game at five, four minutes in. The Lions had a five point lead (20-15) after a jumper from Hawkins with 6:44 left in the half, but a 9-2 run from Livin' The Dream, capped off with a three from Dan Stanley put the Lions down by two (24-22) with 4:29 left. LTD led by six (34-28) at the half and never trailed from that point out. Southern got as close as four when Bowlin drained a three with 11:12 left in the second half. LTD's lead was as much as 18 after a three from Cameron Ledford made the score 71-53 with just under five minutes to play. Hawkins and Bowlin both led the Lions with 15 points each. Hawkins added in 16 rebounds and four steals. Bowlin was 3-5 from long range. Crawford had 17 points for LTD, while former Southern player Brad Mann had 12 points and 10 boards. The Lions will start the regular season next weekend when they play in the Pittsburg State Classic on November 16 and 17 facing off with Cameron on the 16th and Robert Morris (Ill.) on the 17th. |
