Missouri Southern Basketball To Host Meet the Lions Night on October 30

Joplin, Mo. -  The Missouri Southern men's and women's basketball programs will let their fans get a sneak peek at the 2007-08 teams when Southern host its annual Meet the Lions night on Tuesday, October 30 at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.

Festivities will get underway at 5:30 pm that night with hot dogs and Coke products available free to everyone. There will be a pumpkin patch with pumpkins to decorate, as well as winter schedule cards and Basketball Posters that both teams will autograph. The Southern Athletic Department will also hand out candy to all the children in attendance. Kids are encouraged to show up in their favorite costume. Any child dressed up will be allowed to parade around the gym as we show off their Halloween spirit.

The women will tip off at 6 pm with a 20 minute running clock. While the women are playing, coach Robert Corn's men's squad will be available to sign schedule posters for anyone wishing to have one signed.

The men will then tip off at 6:30 pm with the same 20 minute running clock. Coach Maryann Mitt's team will then sign autographs on posters for everyone interested while the men play.

Lionbackers will also be able to pick up their season tickets at the event and as always, admission is FREE!. Come out and get an early look at the 2007-08 Missouri Southern men's and women's basketball teams.
