Maryann Mitts' Lions finished the 2006-07 regular season as the fifth seed in the MIAA post season tournament ending the regular season with a 75-69 upset win over then second ranked Missouri Western. Defending regular season champion Northwest Missouri was the overwhelming preseason favorite over defending tournament champ Central Missouri. Pittsburg State, Emporia State and Missouri Western round out the top five. The men return three starters in Tyler Ryerson, TJ Britton and Stanley Titsworth and five letterwinners, as well. Eleven talented newcomers highlight the roster which will be young, but should be very interesting to watch. Both teams will open the season with
Division I exhibitions on the road. The women travel to Arkansas on
November 4th, while the men are at Tulsa on the 5th. Both will open up
the home schedule with an exhibition against Livin' The Dream on
