FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 2, 2006 Lions add Logan for men's basketball JOPLIN, Mo. - Missouri Southern State University head men's basketball coach Robert Corn has announced that Trevor Logan, an incoming freshman from Fayetteville, Ark., will continue his basketball career with the Lions. Trevor comes to us from an outstanding Fayetteville High School program," Corn said. "He has great leadership ability and he s a good shooter. We feel like he s a well-balanced player that has a chance to develop into a very good player for us here at Missouri Southern. He s also a great young man, and we re very pleased to have him in our program. Logan is a 5-foot-9 and 150-pound guard who was a two-year starter at point guard at Fayetteville High School. An all-state and all-conference performer, he twice led coach Barry Gebhart's Bulldogs into the state tournament. In 2005, FHS finished as state runner-up before bowing out in the first round of the state championship tourney in 2006. Logan was also member of the KURM Radio Dream Team and the All-Northwest Arkansas squad. He was the Northwest Arkansas Times Co-Player of the Year in 2005. He joins five other announced additions for the 2006-07 MSSU men's basketball team. Corn announced on Thursday the addition of forward Joey Savage (Good Pine, La./Bossier Parish CC) and last month announced the signings of guard Daniel Hurst (Hot Springs, Ark./Lake Hamilton HS) and forward/center Deonte Cox (St. Louis, Mo./Forest Park CC). Guard T.J. Britton (Poplar Bluff, Mo./Mineral Area CC) and center Kyle Schrage (Carl Junction, Mo.) inked with the Lions during the November 2005 early signing period. Missouri Southern finished the 2005-06 season with a 12-16 record but made its eighth consecutive appearance in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Postseason Tournament. Coach Corn, fourth in victories among active MIAA coaches, is 264-218 in 17 years at the helm of the Lions. He has guided Southern to six 20-win seasons in his career. The Lions are expected to return three starters in 2006-07.
