Lion Pride Restoration Project press conference called for Monday
The Missouri Southern Athletics Department has called a press conference for Monday, Dec. 9 to kick off the Lion Pride Restoration Project, an effort to secure funding for new artificial turf and track surfaces at Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
Bruce Anderson and Keith Adams will be on hand to detail the project. Following the conference, members of the media will have an opportunity to go to the stadium and get a firsthand look at the state of the current turf and track. The current artificial surface at the football stadium has been in use since 1988, a span of 15 seasons, and will not be utilized next year. The current track has been in place since 1989.
Athletics director Sallie Beard, head football coach Bill Cooke, head men's track & field and cross country coach Tom Rutledge and head women's track & field and cross country coach Patty Vavra will be available for comment.
