FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Gassen (Clinton, Mo.), in his first game after suffering a concussion during homecoming against Nebraska-Omaha, was 2-2 in field goals with distances of 30 and and a career-high 47 yards. He also had three punts (two inside the 20 and one inside the ten) for an average of 46.3 yards, including a career-long 74-yard boot, while averaging 64.2 yards on kickoffs. For the season, Gassen is 3-6 on field goals, including 2-2 between 40-49 yards. He is averaging 40.1 yards per punt and 55.9 yards per kickoff. Southern will be back in action next week as the Lions travel to St. Joseph to face off with 15th ranked Missouri Western at 1:30 pm. The Griffons defeated 14th ranked Central Missouri today. |
