Lions ranked 12th in first NCAA D-II Southwest Region Poll

Indianapolis, In. - The Missouri Southern football team is ranked 12th in the first NCAA Division II Southwest Region poll released today by the NCAA.

The top six teams at the end of the season make the NCAA Division II playoffs. Chadron State (6-0) comes in as the No. 1 team in the region followed by West Texas A&M (6-0), Northwest Missouri (4-1), Mesa State (6-0), Midwestern State (5-1)  and Tarleton State (6-0) to round out the top six.

The Lions are 4-2 and 2-2 in the MIAA. They will be at home this weekend to play host to Fort Hays State for homecoming.

The MIAA has six teams in the poll, however only one, Northwest Missouri, is in the top six. The complete poll follows below.
