Colin Bado named ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District

Joplin, Mo. - Missouri Southern senior wide receiver Colin Bado has been named second team Academic All-District by ESPN the Magazine and the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

CoSIDA, along with ESPN the Magazine conducts the Academic All-America program. Missouri Southern is in the College Division of district seven which consists of Division II, III and NAIA schools within the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming, as well as the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Bado, a native of McKinney, Texas, has been a four year starter for the Lions and is one of the most prolific receivers the Lions have ever seen. A captain this season, he holds the Missouri Southern career and single season record for receptions. He led Division II in receptions per game last season and is fifth in the country this year.

This season, Bado has 73 receptions for 790 yards and five touchdowns. He is a marketing major at Southern and a four time member of the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, as well as being named to the All-Academic Team last year.

Bado was one of 16 NCAA Division II semi-finalists for the National Football Foundation's Draddy Trophy. The award is given annually to the nation's top football scholar athlete.
