FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE On the offensive line, the Lions have signed Clint Hooper, a 6-6 310-pound junior tackle. Hooper is from Eureka, Calif., and was a two-time first-team all-conference performer for College of the Redwoods. Hooper is projected to compete for the left tackle position. Clint has a big-time frame and shows very good athleticism for a big man, said Lions head coach Bart Tatum. Offensive guard Aaron Hunter is a 6-2, 310-pound junior from Dallas, Texas. Hunter played at Kilgore College and was a Southwest Junior College Football all-conference performer this past season. Hunter is projected as a guard on the offensive line for the Lions. Aaron has very good lateral mobility for someone his size, said Tatum. His athleticism should help the interior part of our line. Kharee Louis-Jeune joins the Lions from Dean College. The Brockton, Mass. native checks in at 6-2, 320 pounds and will be a junior. Tatum sees Louis-Jeune as a guard or center prospect. He should provide us with a physical presence in the middle of our line , commented Tatum. On the defensive side, the Lions have inked junior safety Eddie Gilmore. The Claremont, Calif. product is a 5-9, 200 pounder who played the past two season at Chaffey Community College. Eddie is a real physical defensive back, which we love, said Tatum. He runs really well. Tatum said that several objectives have been achieved with these signees. On the offensive side, we needed some immediate competition on the line. We also needed depth at defensive back, so we feel good about that. We will now turn one hundred percent of our attention to high school recruiting which we feel very good about. The Lions finished the 2006 campaign with a 5-6 record.
