FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Barbre was the lone offensive player this year to be a unanimous All-MIAA selection. A returning first team selection from a year ago, Barbre was a preseason d2football.com and Don Hansen's Football Gazette first team All-American selection this year. He helped lead an offensive line that saw quarterback Adam Hinspeter (Centralia, Mo.) become just the second passer in Southern history to throw for 2,000 yards twice in a career. A 2005 third team AFCA All-Southwest Region selection, Barbre helped the Lions to 3,769 total yards including 2,844 passing. In 2004, he helped the team to a school record 3,575 passing yards and 1,408 on the ground. Barbre was one of four MIAA selections, joining Northwest Missouri's Mike Peterson and Reid Kirby, as well as Pittsburg State's Germaine Race. His name will now advance to the national ballot for All-American candidacy.
