MISSOURI SOUTHERN BASEBALL DUGOUT CLUB
As you can imagine, we are
very busy gearing up for Missouri Southern Baseball in 2010. Our
ultimate goal is to give our student-athletes the best possible
collegiate experience they can have. We want them to carry themselves
with pride. We want them to present themselves in a first-class manner,
and we want to always uphold the tradition of success that Southern
Baseball has established over the years.
The 2009 Missouri Southern
Baseball Program saw a season of firsts as the Lions advanced to the
four-team MIAA Baseball Tournament for the first time since 2002 and
defeated 11th ranked Central Missouri 10-0 in the first round. The Lions
also defeated then third ranked and eventual NCAA Division II Runner Up
Emporia State three out of four games at Joe Becker Stadium in the
regular season. The 35 wins for Southern was the most for a Lions squad
since the 2001 season and the Lions also had eight players named All-MIAA.
With your support in 2009, we achieved one of our goals of making the
MIAA Tournament, but we want to soar higher. We want the Missouri
Southern Baseball Program to be a permanent presence in the conference
tournament, as well as advancing to and past an NCAA Regional. With your
support, we can reach this goal.
While preparing for the 2010
season, there are certain areas that have to be addressed immediately if
we want to run the type of quality program that you can be proud of.
These are areas that I feel are very important to our program, but they
are areas that can't be addressed without help from you, our "Friends of
Southern Baseball."
We have introduced a club
comprised of former Southern Baseball players, fans, parents and other
friends who want to see this program succeed. We call this
venture the "Dugout Club," and want you to be a part of it. Membership
levels are detailed below, and members will be recognized on our website
and on a "Dugout Club" sign at all home games. Additionally in
2010, admission will be charged at all MSSU home baseball games at Joe
Becker Stadium. However, any support at any level of the Southern
Baseball Dugout Club will result in free admission at all Lions home
baseball games.
