The links included on this page are to aid you - an international student who is interested in transferring to our college!

 

Admission Requirements for Transfer Students are:

  • Must have completed minimum of 24 hours of college credit.

  • 2.0 GPA (4.0 scale) on all previous college coursework

  • Not on suspension from last school attended

  • Students must score 68 or higher on the Internet Based Test or 190 or higher on the Computer Based Test or 520 or higher on the Paper Based Test (Writing 4.0+). Students must score an 80% or higher on the Michigan Test.

Deadline for acceptance to Missouri Southern:

  Fall Semester Spring Semester
Begins 4th week of August 2nd week of January
Enrollment Deadline Date April 1st  November 1st of the previous year

 

All credentials must be on file by these dates before I-20 form is issued.

 

International Application Checklist:

 

1. Submit application for Admission & $25.00 Application Fee  Click here for the international application

 

2. Submit College Transcript All foreign transcripts must be sent to World Education Services (WES) for evaluation. The cost to the student is currently $125. Submit transcripts to:

Evaluations from WES must be received by Missouri Southern Admissions Office prior to the application deadline to be considered for admission.
(All US transcripts must be sent directly from each school that the student has attended to the Admissions Office. These may not be hand carried or mailed by the students.)

3. Submit TOEFL or Michigan Test Score Students must score 68 or higher on the Internet Based test or 190 or higher on the Computer Based Test or 520 or higher on the Paper Based Test (Writing 4.0+). Students must score an 80% or higher on the Michigan Test. For more information on the Michigan Test, please contact the MSSU Student Support Center at 417.625.9324. You should have your scores sent directly to the Admissions Office. TOEFL scores must be received by the College before the application deadline. Students that do not meet the TOEFL or Michigan test requirements will be required to enter the Intensive English Program (IEP) until the English competency requirement is met.

4. Submit International Student Adviser Report - transfer students only.  Click here for link to Adviser Report.

 

5. Complete and submit Certified Financial Statement. Students must indicate that they will be able to pay all of their college expenses in American dollars per academic year. Financial statement must be mailed and received before the deadline dates.

6. Complete and submit Emergency Information Students must fill out the form at the bottom of the financial page giving the name of two persons we may contact in case of an emergency. You should list one person from your home country and how that person may be contacted, and list one person in the United States along with an address and phone number. 7. Declaring a Major Students must declare their major course of study when applying for admission. This is required to complete the I-20 form for the Immigration Office.

 

8. Housing Requirements All freshman and sophomore men and women are required to live in the college residence halls to the extent that space is available. Different arrangements can be made if married, living with parents, a host family, or excused by the Coordinator of Student Housing. 9. Insurance. A statement of medical insurance is required of all students upon arriving on the campus. The statement of medical insurance must be presented prior to the first day of classes and must be renewed each semester while attending MSSU.

 

10. Athletes. Students in athletics must meet NCAA requirements. Contact MSSU Athletic Office for information at beckley-c@mssu.edu or 417.625.9712.
