International Academic Scholarship Information

Scholarships Who is eligible? How much? How to apply
Honors Program Scholarships are awarded to selected full time students who are attending a post-secondary institution full time for the first time.  ACT composite score of 28 or a combined SAT score of 1280 or a Grade Point Average of 3.5 Four year renewable scholarship covering tuition, textbook rental fees, and student activity fees. Presidential

 Must complete 12 hours with a 2.5 GPA the first semester and a 3.0 GPA for each semester thereafter.  

High school graduates with an admission index of 160 or higher $1700 for academic year over 4 years.  Will not cover any deposit, rental or student activity fees. Awarded directly to the student by MSSU.
Excellence Must complete 12 hours with a 2.5 GPA the first semester and a 3.0 GPA for each semester thereafter. High school graduates with an admission index of 140 to 159. $1350 for academic year over 4 years.  Will not cover any deposit, rental or student activity fees. Awarded directly to the student by MSSU.
Non Resident College Transfer Scholarship  Must complete 12 hours each semester.  Renewable if the student earns a 2.5 GPA the first semester and a 3.0 GPA for each semester thereafter. Students who have completed 45 hours or more from a  College in AR, KS, OK with a 2.5 GPA. $800 for academic year over 2 years.  Will not cover any deposit, rental, or student activity fees. Patron's Scholarship  All scholarships are subject to donor's criteria. Open to any student attending MSSU who shows scholastic ability or financial need. Awards range from $50 up to $2500 per academic year.  These scholarships can NOT be combined with Regent's or Dean's Scholarships. Performing Awards  Students who have demonstrated success or high potential in forensics, foreign language, journalism, music, mathematics, theatre, and athletics. Awards range from $50 to full scholarship consisting of tuition, fees, room and board. Apply directly to the director or sponsor of particular activity.  For more information, contact Scholarship Director.
Employment Programs  Student help program On campus employment for students who are qualified to fill job openings.  International students may work up to 20 hours per week on campus.  Minimum wage, weekly hours depend on operational needs. Apply to Student Employment Director, Linda Sadler.  Her e-mail address is sadler-l@mssu.edu.  International students must have permission from the U.S. Immigration Service to work off campus.
