Welcome to Missouri Southern's International First
Time Freshman Page! The links included on this page are to aid you -
an international student entering college for the first time!
Admission Requirements for First-time Freshman are:
Applicants who have an ACT composite score of 21 or higher
(SAT 980) or an admission selection index of at least 75 (sum of
ACT/SAT percentile and class rank percentile) will be admitted. If
your high school does not rank students, a cumulative GPA will be used
for evaluation purposes. Missouri
Southern will admit, on an individual basis, a limited number of students
who do not meet the above requirements through an Admission Selection
Committee review.
Admission Selection Index
To calculate your admission selection index you will need to
know your rank in class and highest ACT/SAT composite score.
You can click
here to go to the online admission index calculator (if you have your
ACT scores) OR you can use the information below to calculate your index.
To calculate your class rank percentile:
Subtract your class rank from the number of students in your graduating
class then divide that number by the number of students in your graduating
class. For example if you
are ranked 57 out of 115 students your class rank percentile is .504 or
50 (i.e. 115-57=58; 58/115= .504 or 50).
To calculate your admission selection index:
Once you have calculated your class
rank percentile and you know your highest ACT/SAT composite score, use
the chart below to help you determine the ACT/SAT percentile.
Adding your ACT/SAT percentile and your class rank percentile will
provide you an admission selection index.
If your index is 75 or greater, you will be admitted.
If your index is below 75, your credentials will be reviewed by
our Admission Selection Committee to determine your admission status.
Remember, students with an ACT composite of 21 (SAT 980) or higher
are automatically admitted regardless of class rank.
Here’s the formula that you’ll need to use:
