Campus Information
Missouri Southern's 341-acre campus is safe, clean and beautiful,
with ample parking. Campus and community crime is almost nonexistent.
The campus is well lit and features 24-hour security. Flowers and
trees, a pond and nature habitat, and an historic Spanish-style
mansion add to the beauty of the campus.
Living on campus is a fun experience, a place to really get to
know people. About 550 students live on campus in air conditioned
residence halls. Each room has free cable TV hookup and free individual
voice mail. Internet access is available. Some of the buildings
have suites for four people with microwave ovens and refrigerators.
A beautiful new Student Life Center features a cafeteria, an aerobics
room, a weight/exercise room, laundry facilities, a computer lab,
a video game room, and a lounge with a big-screen television and
surround sound. A new field house with seating for approximately
4000, a state-of-the-art training room, and indoor track, opened
in spring 1999. The college is located in a mid-size city of Joplin,
a shopping and cultural center for 350,000 people living within
a 60-mile radius. There are movie theatres, restaurants, and a large
shopping mall less than a mile from campus. Filled with restaurants,
Joplin offers everything from barbecue to sushi. The beautiful recreation
area of the nearby Ozarks region offers canoeing, fishing and many
other outdoor activities. |
