Tuition to hold steady

Tuition will not increase at Missouri Southern State University for the 2009-2010, following a vote last Friday, April 17 by the MSSU Board of Governors.  The agreement would be in accordance with a proposal made by Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon in January.

Under the agreement reached by Gov. Nixon and leaders of Missouri’s public four-year colleges and universities in late January, the higher education institutions will receive the same state appropriations for the new fiscal year that begins July 1 as they received in the current fiscal year.

In return, the institutions have pledged not to raise tuition or academic fees during the 2009-2010 school year.
